Hatta is an enclave of the emirate of Dubai that sits on the border with Oman. Less than a 2 hour drive from Dubai , it’s a great place for a weekend escape. In today’s post I share 5 facts about Hatta.

  1. IT WAS PREVIOUSLY KNOWN AS HAJARAIN
  2. IT BECAME THE DEPENDENCE OF DUBAI DURING THE REIGN OF HASHER BIN MAKTOUM 
  3. THE JUMA MOSQUE IS THE OLDEST BUILDING IN HATTA AND IT WAS BUILT IN 1780.
  4. IT IS HOME TO THE FOOTBALL TEAM HATTA CLUB
  5. IT IS ALSO HOME TO HATTA HERITAGE VILLAGE WHICH HAS BEEN PRESERVED AND RECONSTRUCTED BY THE GOVERNMENT, IT OPENED IN 2001
  6. HATTA IS HOME TO THE WORLD’S LARGEST INCLINED MURAL WHICH IS A PORTRAIT OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF THE UAE, THE LATE SHEIKH ZAYED BIN SULTAN AL NAHYAN AND THE LATE SHEIKH RASHID BIN SAEED AL MAKTOUM.
